We have a few options you can choose from:

Complete one of the options from ‘How to organize a calibration?’

You can send us your instrument, or drop it into us during business hours

If urgent, let us know and we can offer an expedited service for an additional fee

Once the instrument arrives we will send you a formal quotation for your approval. (or seek approval in person)

You can contact us at any time for a status update

After your approval we will perform the quoted works.

Standard turn around is 1 week.

This will vary with work loads but we are often faster than that, calibrations are typically worked on in order of receival/approval

When completed we will send you an invoice for payment.

If you are on a ‘30 day trade account’ then we will process as per your PO or agreement.

After payment is cleared (or PO is processed for account customers), we will inform you that the goods can be collected, or if you have opted for shipping we will typically dispatch same or next business day.

You can also pay in store at time of collection.

Normal business hours

Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm

We are closed on public holidays

Accepted payment methods
  • Direct bank transfer
  • Card payment over the phone (Mastercard & Visa only)
  • Eftpos payment in store (Mastercard & Visa only)

We typically have a standardized pricing structure for calibrations

  • Most of the time we can provide a quote/estimate even without seeing the instrument in person.
  • Some instruments may require an inspection prior to formally quoting
  • Be aware a quote is only an estimate, the quote may need a variance after we have inspected or even begun the calibration procedure, for example if we find damage or faults with the instrument that were not expected and not within the initial scope of the job.
  • We will contact you with a revised quote before proceeding further where necessary.

We have a minimum fee of $80 +GST, this applies as a minimum inspection fee and also a minimum calibration attempt fee for any instrument processed through our facility.

  • Instruments that fail a calibration are generally still chargeable up to the full quoted price, we may at our discretion charge a lesser fee depending how much time and effort was spent working on the instrument.
  • For failed instruments if possible we may be able to offer a repair or replacement
  • Some instruments may carry a larger minimum fee, for example in cases where we need to send the instrument to a 3rd party for assessment, in these cases before moving forward we will quote an elevated minimum fee to cover the associated freight costs and 3rd party assessment fees.

Typical internal flow of a calibration

Typically, the whole calibration process is completed within 1 week.

  • This does vary and depends on various factors, but more often than not we are actually quicker.
  • Your instrument will go through various stages during a typical calibration, we are efficient at moving it between various stages in the process but sometimes delays can happen, we will inform you if we expect any kind of delay.
  • Some calibrations may be sent to a 3rd party partner or supplier, in which case they will carry a longer than our standard turnaround time. We do, however, strive to provide the very best and accurate estimate of turnaround time at time of quoting.

For expedited ‘same day’ or ‘next day’ service, Zedflo is the best calibration service to look to!

We are always busy and do have a constant stream of work in our laboratory, instruments are usually worked on in the order they are received, and then in order of confirmed approval to proceed with quote, but for a fee your instrument can jump the queue when you require a fast turn around.

The fee will vary, and is subject to availability, but as a typical guide:

  • Next business day turn around add 30% to the normal fee
  • Same day (next on bench) turn around add 50% to the normal fee

Calibration services are essential across a broad spectrum of sectors. Each industry has unique requirements and standards, making specialised calibration services not just beneficial but often mandatory for compliance and quality assurance. We ensure your test and measurement equipment is up to industry standards. It’s crucial to choose the right calibration solution tailored to meet each industry’s unique requirements and standards.

Mining Industry

In the mining industry, precision and reliability are critical to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations. Calibration services play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy of instruments and test equipment used throughout the mining process, from exploration and extraction to processing and environmental monitoring. This includes the calibration of devices such as pressure transducers, flow meters, and scales that are crucial for handling materials accurately and safely.

Commonly calibrated instruments also include gas detectors and environmental monitoring equipment, which are essential for maintaining safe working conditions by monitoring the presence of hazardous gases and environmental pollutants. Additionally, the calibration of geotechnical instruments, such as inclinometers and strain gauges, helps in monitoring the structural integrity of mines and associated infrastructure, preventing accidents and ensuring operational stability.

Calibration in mining also extends to the equipment used in refining processes, where precise measurements are necessary for optimising the processing of minerals and metals. This ensures that operations are efficient, waste is minimised, and the impact on the environment is reduced. Overall, regular and precise calibration of mining equipment helps in achieving regulatory compliance, enhancing safety, and boosting the overall productivity of mining operations.

Renewable energy generation

In wind farms, solar farms, and power stations, numerous types of equipment require regular calibration to ensure optimal performance and safety. In wind farms, wind speed sensors, anemometers, and wind direction indicators must be calibrated to accurately measure environmental conditions and optimize turbine operation. Solar farms rely on calibrated photovoltaic cells, pyranometers, and solar trackers to precisely capture sunlight and maximize energy generation. Power stations, whether fossil fuel-based or renewable, require calibration of instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and control systems to maintain efficient and safe operation. Additionally, protective relays, transformers, and electrical meters need calibration to ensure grid stability and accurate billing. Power quality analysers are important diagnostic and maintenance tools that also require calibration.  Calibration of these critical components is essential for maximizing energy production, ensuring equipment longevity, and adhering to regulatory standards in the renewable energy and power generation sectors.

Mineral processing and production

In processing plants across various industries, calibration is imperative for maintaining precise control and ensuring the efficiency and safety of operations. Temperature sensors and controllers are fundamental for regulating heating and cooling processes, ensuring product quality and operational safety. Pressure gauges and transmitters are critical for monitoring vessel and pipeline pressures, essential for preventing overpressurization and ensuring the integrity of equipment. Electrical equipment, including voltage meters, current transformers, and power monitors, require calibration to guarantee accurate measurements for electrical systems’ efficiency and safety.  Regular calibration of these diverse instruments and equipment is essential for maintaining operational reliability, meeting regulatory requirements, and achieving desired product specifications in processing plants.
